6-fluoromethamphetamine (6-FMA) is a synthetic structural isomer of fluoromethamphetamine and an analytical reference standard categorized as a CNS Stimulant. Because of its position-specific chemical arrangement, it differs in potency and metabolic pathways from its more widely documented relatives, such as 2-FMA and 4-FMA. 6-Fluoromethamphetamine (6-FMA) is a stimulant drug related to methamphetamine. Though little is known of the pharmacological properties of fluoro-methoxy-substituted amphetamines, 6-FMA has been identified as a component of designer drugs sold as “legal high” replacements for restricted substances. The hydrochloride formulation of this compound is intended for use as a standard for the forensic analysis of samples that may contain 6-FMA.
